2007 is a year of historical significance for Champion Technology as we celebrate the twin milestones of our 20th anniversary of establishment and 15th listing anniversary on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This memorable occasion is made even more special as Hong Kong enters into its 10th year of reuniting with Mainland China.
From our modest beginnings as a systems house founded in 1987, Champion Technology has come a long way to where we are today – a global technology group offering innovative solutions in the areas of communications software, wireless, telematics, e-commerce, security, online entertainment and e-gaming. The Group's solutions are dedicated to bettering the lives of people, enriching lifestyles, promoting health consciousness, preventing accidents, saving lives, as well as promoting probity and responsibility in the conduct of the online industry. We are proud of our public safety heritage which has given us a dominant position in command and control communications solutions in the mission critical services sector.
Champion Technology's spirit of corporate social responsibility extends beyond our business. We are committed to contributing to the community, and in particular we are active in promoting cultural and heritage collaborations between and among different countries, with a special focus on Chinese culture. We believe that the appreciation of various aspects of world culture and legacies of different nations will go a long way towards enhancing the harmony in our global community. The highlights of such cultural endeavours can be found at the Group's participation with Chinese World Culture Heritage Foundation (CWCHF), where we are sponsoring the initiative of applying our innovative technology to develop a digital and interactive museum.
As a home-grown technology company, Champion Technology has been a great beneficiary of Hong Kong's unique environment, blessed with its exceptional resilience, strong economic momentum, and the prospect, now a reality, that China abides by its “one country, two systems” principle in relation to Hong Kong's handover. With the preservation of freedom for Hong Kong people, and the preservation of our legal, economic and social systems, Champion Technology will, alongside with many others in the SAR, continue to rise to the many challenges in the days and years ahead.
To celebrate the twin milestones, we will be organizing a host of events throughout the year, which will include exhibitions, cultural activities, and special projects, both in Hong Kong and in China, amongst others, already comprised of four European cultural projects:
